Consider the welding process and material together when choosing a machine.
MMA uses a coated electrode, MIG/MAG uses continuously fed wire, and TIG uses a tungsten electrode. Machine selection should not be based on amperage alone.
The metal, thickness, environment, power supply and frequency of use all matter. One machine may not suit every application.
Describe your requirements before buying. Share the material, thickness and whether the work is continuous or intermittent. Verify specifications in the manufacturer's manual.
